This spring we had some very cold weather that I thought would kill my bleeding hearts. There was a pile of frozen foliage where the plant was making it's annual debut. As you can see it came back and is almost in its full glory. The kids just love this plant and wait for it to bloom every year. I guess that I am having a flower day.
Can anyone guess what type of flower this is? I will give you a clue that it is somewhat mutated. I do not remember the blossoms ever looking like this or the anthers being so numerous. Maybe the testosterone in the flower just got the best of this blossom.
